In 1961, Jay Parker first acquired a summer property for his family from Dr. Billy Stevenson. The property included two cottages and was once owned by a Dr. Copperthwaite. A few years later, Jay added an adjacent property owned by a Dr. Copperthwaite. Over the next 15 years he assembled various abutting lands from Llewellyn, Smith, Morgan, Tibbo and others, and set about fulfilling his dream to build a nine hole private golf course. It became his passion and the focus of his free time, and with help from Tony Forrestal, Bob Eason and others, he built roads, little bridges, planted trees and painstakingly developed the greens. The Links was his hobby and a labour of love until he could do no more. Near the end of his life, and as a matter of prudence, Jay Parker had the entire land assembly quieted to ensure that when the time came, his family could pass clear title to the entire 27 acres. Now is the time to pass it on to a new owner.
