I am a resident of the Province of Newfoundland and a graduate from Memorial University of Newfoundland with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. My business career is varied. I recently served as both Director of Sales and Director of Marketing with NewTel. I served for three years as the President of a local high tech contract manufacturing firm, NewTech Instruments and spent almost two decades with Nortel and assumed the responsibility of Asst. Vice President for Newfoundland and Labrador. My most recent responsibility in the corporate environment was that of Director of Internet for Aliant . I chose to pursue the field of Auctioneering and Appraisal out of personal interest and out of a genuine interest to continue in the sales and marketing field, and continue to serve the needs of clients. I am a graduate of the South West Ontario School of Auctioneering, and is an accredited personal property appraiser, having successfully completed the Canadian Personal Property Appraisal Course. I am also a member in good standing of the Auctioneering Association of Canada. I have been an avid collector of period furnishings, Newfoundlandia and various "objets dart" for many years. I am a woodworker/furniture maker and have undertaken considerable furniture restoration over the years. This interest and experience serves well in the auction business, especially as it relates to estate sales. My experience in the business world, will be a definite asset in dealing with commercial accounts in all aspects of the auction and appraisal business. I have been active in the community for many years, and have served as follows:
I currently serve as a member of the Arts and Letters Committee that is sponsored by the Govt of Nfld. and Labrador, and I am a Member of the Board of Directors of the Film Corporation of Newfoundland and Labrador. Key to the auction business, I chaired three auction committees for non'profit groups in the past, specifically, Nfld. Historic Trust, St. Clares Hospital Health Foundation, and the Trinity Trust. All three were a resounding success. |
